Dr. Kendon Kuo is an Associate Clinical Professor in Emergency and Critical Care at Auburn University. He earned his veterinary degree from the University of California, Davis. Following graduation, he traveled to Alabama to complete a one-year small animal rotating internship at Auburn University. He stayed another 3 years to complete a residency in emergency and critical care. In 2014, he completed his residency, obtained a master's degree, passed his board exam, and became a father. His teaching efforts were recognized when honored with the Zoetis Distinguished Teaching Award in 2017. His special interests include coagulation, point-of-care ultrasound, and trauma.

Learning objectives that Dr. Kuo will focus on during his presentation include:

  • Clinical signs, pathophysiology,  and risk factors associated with heat stroke and heat-related illness in dog, as well as potential complications and treatment
  • Approach to the bleeding trauma patient
  • Pathophysiology of head trauma, as well as patient assessment and key goals of effective management
